Midshipman is a two deck Forty Thieves type game.

How to Play

There are eight foundation piles, these will be built up in suit from Ace to King. When all of the cards are moved here, the game will be won.

There are nine tableau piles. At the start of the game four cards are dealt to each pile, two cards face down and then two cards face up. Building is down by any suit except the same suit. Only one card may be moved at a time. Spaces may be filled by any card.

The remaining cards form a stock. The stock is turned over one card at a time to a waste pile. The top card of the waste pile is available for play on the foundations or tableau. There are no redeals.

Midshipman is a standard Forty Thieves type game. It is very similar to the game Maria. An average player wins about 90% of the time, while a good player can will nearly every time.
