Object

To move all the cards to the foundations.

 

Layout

4 foundation piles (left) - build the Aces up in suit to King and the Kings down in suit to Ace.  At the start of the game two Aces of one color and two Kings of the opposite color are dealt here.

 

16 fans (right of foundations) - build up or down by suit.  The top card is available for play on the foundations or another fan.  Only one card at a time may be moved.  Spaces are filled only by Aces or Kings.  At the start of the game 3 cards are dealt to each pile.

Since there are only 4 remaining Aces or Kings, only 4 empty fans can be filled.

 

History

Clover Leaf is a fan type variation of La Belle Lucie, Shamrocks, and Trefoil.  It is a one deck version of House on the Hill.  Clover Leaf was invented by Thomas Warfield.
